Our orange betta fish has lost his color with his head and tail turning dark. He has lost his appetite. Can anyone please tell us what is wrong and what we need to do to help him regain his health. IP: Logged |

If he was orange, and he is now turning dark, he may be happier, either that or sick. I had a betta that was pale, with light blue fins, then I changed his water, (which I hadn't been able to do for a while, and it got really bad!)and now he is dark dark red and blue, he is much happier! As for the appetite, you may want to try a different brand and/or type of food. You may want to try flakes, pellets, or bloodworms, or some frozen brine shrimp or blackworms. I feed my fish a variety, it seems to help! IP: Logged |

here is a disription for you from a pamplet from Mardel Parasitic Infestations GYRODACTYLUS - Affects skin of fish. Colors fade, fins droop, fold and gradually become torn. fish become sluggish and weak. If this sounds like your fish it says to treat with Coppersafe. Made by Mardel IP: Logged |
