I have a seventy five gallon tank with one red tiger oscar and two fire eels the oscar is 11'' long and the eels are about 2 and a half feet long. Is this overcrouding? IP: Logged |

I'm no expert, but I've read that the general rule of thumb is 1" of fish per gallon (and also taking into consideration potential growth of the fish). So... 11 + (2 1/2 feet = 30" each) 60 = 71 inches of fish total. Your tank is 75 gallons... so, IMO, as long as your pets don't grow, LOL, you're tank size is okay. ------------------ IP: Logged |

you're waaay overcrowded duder... Im assuming the tank is 4ft long and those eels and 2.5 feet each?? Can those things even move in there?? 75gallons is only enough for one, full grown oscar and MAYBE a few small fish. Dont you want your fish to thrive? IP: Logged |
