Hi I just adopted some new fish from a friend who had moved and couldn't take his fish with him. I have a 30 gallon tank that now has 8 fish living in it. They are as follows: a 3-4 inch pleco, a 2 inch rapheal striped catfish, two 2-3 inch chinese algea eaters, 3 small tetras, and 1 1/2 inch angel fish. These were originally all in a 10 gallon tank. My questions are as follows: Are these fish really compatabile with each other? (allow they seem to get along fine) Is my 30 gallon tank ok for them? Any help will be greatly appreciated. The answer to your first question is yes, your fish are compatible! Second, your 30 gallon will be fine for all of your fish, but keep in mind plecos can grow to 14 inches or so. In time you may have to buy a larger tank or get rid of your pleco. Good luck! IP: Logged |

You didn't say what kind of tetras. If they are neon or approximate size, those angelfish will make a snack out of them. IP: Logged |

Please be very careful when it comes to your chinese algea eater. Mine had the bad habit of chasing after slower fish (My prize koi angels)and sucking on them. He killed two. He had plenty of other stuff to eat on. Now he lives with my daughters fire bellied toad. Bad fishy!!!! IP: Logged |
