I have a tank of 4 piranhas and i was woundering if the plants i got from petsmart might have snail egg's and i also have a snail and i am woundering if it would lay egg's? I wouldnt mind having more snails, but is having snail eggs bad for the fish or tank? Because i am always hearing you have to wash out your plants so you can get the eggs of snails out, and that it isnt good. What is wrong with snail egg's? IP: Logged |

The problem is not the eggs it's what comes out of the eggs. Snails can literally take over a tank. The old addage of "multiplying like rabbits" should have actually been "multiplying like snails", rabbits don't even come close. IP: Logged |

We have a huge snail problem in our tank, as 1 snail has produced over 120 new lil ones. If you have additional snails u don't want, see if your pet shop will take some , or consider getting some clown loaches as they find the young baby snails an "additional" food source. IP: Logged |
