I HAVE 1 RED ZEBRA, 3 COBALTS, 1 JACK DEMPSEY, 2 JEWELS, AND A YELLOW LAB., AND AN ELECTRIC BLUE. SHOULD I ADD "INSTANT OCEAN" SALT TO MY AQUARIUM? ALSO, IF I SHOULD, HOW MUCH SHOULD I ADD PER GALLON? THANX IP: Logged |

Although you can use "Instant Ocean" in the tank I wouldn't recommend it for the following reasons. "Instant Ocean" is far more expensive than regular aquarium salt. Also one tablespoon of "Instant Ocean" will not give you the same specific gravity as one tablespoon of aquarium salt. Your least expensive treatment is to buy NON-IODIZED!!! ice cream rock salt at the grocery store. It is the same type of salt as aquarium salt and is cheaper than even the standard aquarium salt.
