I got 3 Juli cory cats about 3 weeks ago and am not have luck with them....I lost one this morning and another is about to die. I don't know if I just got a bad batch that were sick when I got them or if it's my aquarium. What kind of set up do you have yours in? I have a 10 gallon currently with 3 platties and the dwindling corys. Do you find them to be hardy? How do you care for yours? Thanks for any advice! IP: Logged |

The first thing I'd ask is "Is this an established tank?". Meaning, did you cycle the aquarium? Before I can give any relevant advice I need you to answer a couple of questions beforehand: What are your water parameters for Ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, pH and Temperature. IP: Logged |

hi D! I'm glad you found this site...you too have been a wealth of knowledge for many! Yes, my tank is established...it's been up since the 1st of October. I test my levels weekly or whenever I suspect something is going on. My ammonia is 0.25ppm, nitrites 0 and nitrates 30ppm. My temperature is 74. I change water weekly(25%) and have been vacuming at the same time which I am now wondering if I should only be vacuming once a month instead of weekly. My water has been cloudy the last 2 weeks since I treated my cory for fungus for 8 days of that time, so am thinking the medicine must have caused this. I was also wondering if my piece of driftwood can cause cloudiness? Anyway, my remaining cory looks wonderful and healthy...I lost 2. What do you think? IP: Logged |
