Hi, im new to owning an aquarium. And its a pretty big tank. My uncle left his aquarium to me and i was wondering if somebody good give me some advice on maintaining the aquarium. The tank is already set up. The aquarium has two alge fishes and six koi fishes, one catfish, one crawfish, and two unknown fishes. The crawfish and the two unknow fishes are from the lake. And the rest was store bought. Im feeding them some shrimp pellets and some kind of floating pellets. Does anybody have any input or some advice they can offer me. Thanks IP: Logged |

the crayfish and the 2 unknown fish might have diseases so watch them and the other fish carefully how many gallons is the tank? the koi might need a bigger tank sometime(they can get apout 3ft long) IP: Logged |

Thanks for the advice. The tank is pretty big, its about six feet long and about two and a half feet wide. I had the crayfish and the other unknown fish in there for about a month now. How can i tell if they have any diseases? Im a little concern with the catfish. I did a search on this fourm for catfishes. And i read that i need to get a rock for them to hide under. So i'll be going to get one today. Thanks for the advice. IP: Logged |

it would be a bad idea to get a redtail for the 290 gallon tank then a few fish would be eaten like the small pleco the pike and probally after it grows a bit the lace cat IP: Logged |
