Welcome! You have some good questions ill try to answer all of them.A female guppy will give birth to aroung 50 fry.But the thing is she haves them over a few days and they do not take care of them both parents will try to eat the babys as fast as they come out.To avoid losses of all the babys you can do either one of the following:1st you can remove the parents(not the fry)to another tank.2nd which is eaiser to me,add a whole whole lot of floating plants as the babys will go straight up wwhen they are born. And when I mean alot of plants I mean alot!Have as much as you can this will provide cover for the babys.Feed the babys crushed flake food after a few days(1-2)If you leave the parents in with them feed the parents alittle more thn you usualy do so they wont want to eat the babys as much. The female will stay pregnant for about 4 weeks. As the spot gets darker she is getting cloaser to having the babys.I hope I helped. If you have any more questions dont be afraid to ask...
