Of all the diseases my fish could have, it seems they have to get swim bladder. Just yesterday, I put two new (very) small goldfish in my previously empty 10 gallon tank. For the first five minutes or so they were both fine. But them the smaller one began to rise to the top of the tank tail first, sometimes just laying on it's side. It's not lying on it's side any longer as it's fightiing to stay down. It seems that the larger fish now has it as well, though not as severe. Could it be bacterial .....or generic? Since I caught it early on, Im thinking there is a chance I can do something for them. I've been all over the web and got different information every time. Someone please help!!! IP: Logged |

You can try a salt bath and that might help. I don't recall the exact measurements for it. But truthfully, I don't think your fish will make it. IP: Logged |

Yeah, I had heard a lot about using salt as a treatment. But....sadly...I agree with you. Thanks for your help though. IP: Logged |

I don't know how new you are tothe hobby, but from your description I would think it to be water conditions or acclimation. The tank was freshly setup and chlorine/chloramine remover not completely circulated in the tank, or most likely Ph shock from acclimating the fish too quickly. IP: Logged |
