Hi everyone,
This is only my second time posting on this forum, I am usually in the Pit Bull one, but thought I would pop over here aswell.
I have a question that is a little weird, and I dont think I should be concerned, but nonetheless here I go. I have a 15 month Female AmStaff named Harley. Harley just went into her second heat. We have no intention of breeding her, but have not "fixed" her yet. For Harley, I buy her little boys undies (Scooby doo this time - too cute!) and I cut a hole in the butt for her tail to poke out, and line them with a maxi pad. When we leave the house we put her in the basement,(basically her own room doggy proofed) and she never leaves her undies on, she always takes them off and will tear apart the pad and underwear, so we have started to leave her "naked" when we go out because its not a heavy flow, and she can't ruin anything. My question is, she is always licking herself when the undies are off. She knows she is supposed to keep them on, but doesn't like to, so my guess is she is keeping herself clean so she doesn't get "mess" on her favorite chair we put down there for her. Is it healthy for her to "clean" herself this much? I know it sounds like a weird question, but sometimes she just really goes at it, and I don't know if constantly doing this can make her sick? Also, could it give her a rash because of her constant cleaning?
Sorry my first post had to be so gross. Next time I'll try to find a pic with her in her scooby undies and post that! She really is too cute sometimes.

Most females in heat do this. It is not going to make her sick. Just think of all the other things she licks.

hehe Vixen,
that made me laugh. Too true my friend. Although I am not sure I want to think about all the stuff she enjoys to lick. Just kidding. Thanks, just wanted to be sure
