Well I got Katie Saturday and lord help me I was angry. Her feet were so matted it looked like she had mittens on, the mats in her ears were unbelievable and around her mouth wasn't any better. She has some kind of tumor or something on her shoulder that the previous owner said "schnauzers get them", it didn't feel like a tumor to me though..it was hard and pointy. At any rate she was as sweet and snuggly (and stinky) as could be. She didn't seem stressed at all about the change...until we took her to the girl who will transport her to the rescue, then she started to shake and whine. They will be taking her to the clinic where the rescue lady works and she will get vet care first and probably her teeth pulled (at leaste some) and then a good grooming, I imagine a complete shave. I hope she never has to endure another grooming like she will have to have this time, the poor thing had to be in pain with all those mats and I imagine even with shaving it's still going to be painful. Maybe they can do it while she is out for having her teeth pulled. I pray she gets a home where she will be loved and spoiled. The rescue lady said she would let me know what happens with her. Thanks for the update maisey! I'm so sorry you had to go through that, but knowing this poor animal now has a shot at being happy and spoiled for his remaining years, does help I'm sure. God Bless you Girl! and your daughter, give her a hug from a stranger that's proud of her.... Susan IP: Logged |

That poor baby! I'm glad she will find a loving home now. Please keep us updated when you hear anything about her, and keep trying to convince this family to NOT get another dog!!

I agree that family needs convincing not to get another dog! I can't believe they are actually thinking about it. I also can't believe this dog didn't have a bed or any toys... and they want another dog!!!??? I hope the transition for Katie goes well and I hope for her that she doesn't find it stressful. Poor thing must be so confused. Good on you Maisey for doing something about it. And good on your daughter aswell, it certainly sounds like you have brought her up to be a caring compassionate person with good morals. Someone needs to ask this family if they really should be getting another dog. Do they not think the next one is going to get old and loose it's novelty like the last one? IP: Logged |

Yea Maisey! Congratulate your daughter for me! That must've been hard, not knowing how they would receive your offer, and wondering if they would even like her if she shared their 'secret' (at least I would've been!) ------------------ IP: Logged |
