hey guess what everyone??? My new dog is playing with my old dog now!!! And yesterday we had another breakthrough, my older dog was sleeping and I was sitting next to him with the pup on my lap and she decided to go to sleep and flopped over on him, and even tho I could tell he wasn't totally comfortable with this HE STAYED THERE!!! I really wanted a photo of it but I couldn't get up coz I knew Bender would get up straight away! I also wanted to ask (this may sound a bit similar to the dog fight question Lori asked) but when they play Bender (the older dog) growls and shows his teeth and looks quite nasty. Though he is getting down on his front legs like he is playing and his tail still wags. I just get worried that it's half playing and half nasty. Leela (the pup) usually rolls over on her back and Bender chews her legs and ears and stuff- what's he doing???!!! I like it when they play though I just don't like Bender's growling, he sounds very nasty. Must admit though it hasn't been much longer than a week and the improvements have been fast. IP: Logged |

Knobbbles glad to hear things are looking up. hopefully someone can chime in on the growling, Bender may just be showing your pup who is the boss while playing. honeybear IP: Logged |

Knobbles, that is totally normal! don't worry, it's a good sign that the older pup is wanting to play, or he/she wouldn't be wagging it's tail. You should see my puppies play! sometimes i think they are going to really hurt each other! but they are just having fun, and learning the pack order. Casey (my adult mini doxie) and Freebie (my adult shi tzu) play real ruff sometimes, but when Casey has had enough, she lets Freebie know it. The only thing I don't like is: he chews on her ears, and I just hate that! she is so pretty and I don't want him messing her up! but she doesn't mind, so I leave them alone. Anyway I said all that to say: it's normal! Glad they are doing better.... Sincerely, Susan IP: Logged |
