Hello....I'm new to the message board. My name is Laurie and I have a Pembroke Welsh Corgi. The past day he has had diarrhea and I'm not sure why. Has anyone every had this happen? I'm not sure what to do for him. My vet said to try to give him immodiam AD 3x's a day and see how he does. Does anyone think I should be concerned that he might have the flu or something? Thanks in advance for your response! IP: Logged |

You can give dogs immodium? I have never heard of that! My dog has bouts with Diarriah now and then- it was a lot worse when she was younger-- I think she just has a really sensitive stomach. When she has it for more than a day the vet usually gives us a prescription of Albon- I think it's just like general antibacterial medicine for doggy tummies-- anyway, it works very well. You should ask your vet about it. IP: Logged |

Thanks for the response and the welcome puggleowner! Yeah...I just called the vet today and that is what they told me to give him. They said it's 1tsp for every 20lbs. So my pup only weights 14lbs. They said to give him 3/4tsp. I'll let you know if it works! IP: Logged |

Welcome Laurie - I had that happen once, I rushed Jake my lab to the emergency room because he had diararea for 2 days. and he NEVER has had this, it was nothing, they just gave me some pills. I wish I could just call my vet an have him do that, but no that is money out of their pocket for an office visit. I am sure he will be just fine honeybear IP: Logged |
