I just bought Cameron a bottle of multi-vitamin supplments from the pet store that you give your dog once a day. I figured it never hurts to have your dog as healthy as possible, right? Also, there are some theories that dogs eat their poo because they are lacking in certain nutrients, so I thought I'd give these a try to see if they made any difference in her poo-eating behavior. Does anyone else feed their dog vitamins?

Yes, but too much of certain nutrients can do more harm than good.

From what I understand dogs and cats don't have the ability to know that they are lacking in certain nutrients and to seek out foods containing those nutrients.

Dog eat poop because they smell partially undigested food in the poop that smells good to them. I give mine Seatecs phyto-greens supplements.

I'd be cautious about adding a mult, depends on the mgs, and the type of food you are feeding. It can easily throw off an already "balanced" diet. Say for example calcium, calcium is already added to the food, so dogs intake becomes too high.

From what I have been reading lately, supplementing with vitamins can be a good idea. You have to be very careful with vitamins A and D, though, because too much is toxic. B complex and C are good ones to supplement, and you cannot overdose on them.

Supplementing with minerals (such as calcium) is not a good idea. It has the potential to cause more harm than good.
