I have a ShihPOO - does that count? I've heard that people shampoo can dry out a dog's skin too much, but I've never tested it. When I wash my puppy, I use puppy shampoo and then spray my hands with people leave-in conditioner and work it through her fur before I dry her. It helps keep the tangles out, makes the daily brushing easier, and leaves her fur really soft. IP: Logged |

If your dog already has dry flaky skin. IT is the diet that should be addressed. Give a top notch kibble and it should take care of anything like that. That aside, if skin is normal, I say yes. Some are stuck on no saying it can dry skin out. My two dogs do fine with pantene plus pantene conditioner. And Mane n Tail shampoo and conditioner. I use tham all the time, no problems. I know of someone that uses patene on her maltese once a week, no problems. My aunt use johnsons baby shampoo on her poodle for 15 years till she passed away. IP: Logged |
