When I had my smaller sheltie, she went with me everywhere. I had a soft-sided carrier approved by the airlines, and she rode under the seat in front of me. The flight attendents would often let me put the carrier in the seat next to me if vacant after take off. It usually is a fee of $50-60 dollars to fly with your pet. My husband is a pilot, and he recommends never placing the pet in the cargo cabin. Some airlines have fire extinguishing systems that could kill your pet if activated. This system could be activated without a fire if the smoke sensor detects smoke. I now have two shelties, one is too large to place in the under seat carrier. I now leave them at home when we travel. Of course not alone IP: Logged |
