I got to thinking. There are so many people on here who wouldnt have any other dog than the one they have. I thought it would be interesting to hear what kind of dog you have and a trait that you love in your dog that is either unique or something you wouldnt expect other people that dont have that type of dog to know. However please refrain from making any harsh comments on another breed or mixed breed of dog. This is all for fun and a learning experience! I have 2 rottweilers. The trait that I love about rotties that people that dont have them dont know is they follow you around everywhere you go, from room to room, to the bathroom, everywhere, They are very moochy and verymuch attached to you. Ok who is next to introduce their babies? IP: Logged |

Natalie is my australian shepherd/redbone x and she also follows me everywhere..sometimes so closely she steps on my heels. She is a 45lb. lap dog and must be on my lap at all times when I am sitting. When I was at the vet and it was really packed I had to kneel on the floor and she sat right on my knee like it was a chair. She is part hound and has flappy lips that somtimes seem to get stuck or folded over her teeth...makes her look very silly when this happens (I think thats my favorite thing about her). Oh and one more thing, she is such a lounger...always laying on the couch with her head on a pillow, sometimes covered with a blanket looking so relaxed and lazy. She will actually go under my blanket and spin around in a way that she is tightly wrapped in the blanket with just her head poking out. I love her so much, she is perfect for me and I better stop now because I could go on and on and on about her... Next is Sebastian the toy poodle. He is a licker...constantly licking my face, especially when I talk sweet to him. If I pull my face away from him he just keeps licking the air...its quite funny. I've had him less than a year so I don't have quite as much to say about him. BTW, this was a great topic. IP: Logged |

Daisy is a female, 1.5 year old golden retriever. Theres just something about that little golden girl that puts a smile on my face . Shes comforted me through the horrible times I have been havig lately. Whenever I have a rough day, shes a shoulder to cry on. She truly is my angel Molly is a 2.6 yar old, sable and white rought collie. Shes very independent, but very caring. She has lots of character and always makes me laugh with her goofy personality. I have two, Jake is my lab you just wnat hug all of the time, he is a 100 # lap dog, sleeps at the head of our bed. The custest things he does is when he stretches out and we call him super dog, then when he sits, he cant sit on his honches, so his butt hit s the ground and he tries use use his feet and tail as a tripod but then his feet always slips out from under him. He also follows me every where, he goes into a panic if I am out of sight for a minute. Now Wylie, a 50short hair mix that has one blue eye and and brown, with one floppy ear she is the exact opposite, whereas Jake is a big couch potato, she wants to be outside all of the time and talk about play, she has a frisbee that is with her at all times, she panics when she cant find it. and she like to sleep at the foot of our bed. I wouldnt trade them for the world. IP: Logged |

I have an Aussie/Lab X named Dooley and a Catahoula X pup named Witt, he is probably crossed on one of the "bully" type breeds, maybe Pit bull or American Bulldog. I think that I would now say a Catahoula is probably a "best" fit dog for me and I know that my next dog WILL be a pb Catahoula. Both of my dogs are herding/working type dogs and I would say that type of dog has all the traits and characteristics that I absolutely love. Smart doesn't even begin to describe their intelligence, they are comical and definately have a sense of humor, they are very versatile and agile and soooooooo very loyal. Herding breeds are for me! I wouldn't say "I would never have any other kind of dog" because I think there are many many good breeds and mixes that would have the same qualities I like and you never know what fate may drop on your door stoop. PS. I also have a Poodle named Darby, he was abandoned at my mothers house and I took him in, Poodles are not my kind of dog, but Darby has been a treasured soul in this house. He is the best snuggling dog I have ever met, he loves to go for rides in a basket on my bike, in my lap on horseback and he loves to garden with me. My pup Cosmo is a character! He's 11 months old and has all the energy in the world. He looovvveeesss car rides and going out. He also loves laying around the house and sleeping on the couch with me or on the floor at my feet. If he hears his leash, he's at the door in a flash, ready to go where ever we go. He's a German Shepard mix we got from a shelter. We've only had him for a month now, so we're all still learning each other. I have an 8 month old Peek-a-poo. She is SUGAR colored, hence the name Sugar (we call her SHUG). We have had her 3 months now, but honestly it seems like a year, she has become such a part of our lives. She is very smart....has learned the names of all her toys (and she has a lot....yes, we have spoiled her) has pretty much overcome her potty training now, loves me to no end. I have Lupus and Fibromyalgia and when I have very stiff mornings, she walks like I do...and slowly...I do believe the Pup would pick me up and carry me if she could. We are RV Campers and she LOVES IT....absolutely loves going for a RIDE in the car or RV. I know her very well, but she also KNOWS ME VERY WELL. We are now very IN-CYNC with each other. I have finally learned THE LOOK for outside and she has learned when to go and play alone. FUNNY THING: this past weekend, we went camping and walked her along the waters edge. There were a bunch of ducks in the water and she was going to GET THEM....poor baby ran like crazy and I let her go on the leash and in a FLASH, she was in the water...soaking wet...and Yes...DOG PADDLING to beat the band. The rest of the walks, she wanted to steer clear of the DUCKS...I think she thought they caused her to go into the water. We are trying to SOCIALIZE her in ALL WAYS...introducting her to many elements, people, places, things, and experiences. Thing I love most: Her sweet, sweet spirit and she does not BARK. Yes, to me that's a Treat, because I am ill and NOISE is not a GOOD THING to me. She barks ONLY when the doorbell rings or if feeling approached and that's it. We thought she was MUTE for the longest. It's like GOD KNEW I needed a quiet pup. It's just my husband and I so she is definitely OUR BABY and we have spoiled her royally, but we also make her behave. How did I ever live without her ??? Thanks for a great site, SHUG'S MOM IP: Logged |
