Hi I am new to this site and have a question. I am planning to get a new puppy in the Spring. I am seriously considering getting a Maltese. Does anyone know if Maltese are prone to more health problems than other breeds. I am not new to dog ownership, however I have always owned larger dogs. Thanks in advance for any information you can give me. IP: Logged |

HI there, Well they can be I would suggest you find a good local breeder that has good eyes in their lines. DO NOT GET ONE FROM A PET STORE!! most small breed breeders if they are good screen for good eyes. And going through the process of finding a good breeder is worth the money you will save from vet bills with bad eyes..Also check AKC.COM for a list of reputable breeders in your area. Hope this helps. kipper IP: Logged |
