Well, I thought I had found my Shih a Poo but it turns out with intensive research (on my part) I had found about 8 different adds by this person for five different cross breeds.All ready to go home about the same time, and a few 'pure bred' Now,I'm not judging anyone and this person's dogs looked very well cared for. But like I stated in another post I have been a diehard pure bred do it for the right reasons person and I just couldn't bring myself to support that. So after talking it over with my husband, we decided to stick to a breeder that had specified contracts, stood behind the health of their dogs etc...and after nearly going blind from the computer I have purchased a BEAUTIFUL Shih tzu!! I am gettin him on a spay/neuter contract as we only want a companion. He is 4 weeks at the moment and an absolute beauty! I still think the Poo crosses are so cute...But it's very hard (for me anyway) to except all the crossing between animals just to make a buck. I say that b/c I did not find one person who had a personal contract to spay/neuter the pup in question and anyone who TRULY cares about a 'breed' or a possible 'new breed' would take the time to at least have that. I am NOT putting this cross down in any way! Once the dog is here it's not their fault and I really do think they are an awesome dog! But I do however wish that anyone who does this would realize that you don't have to have a akc registration to have a contract. I talked to so many people and they assume that if the dog isn't pure then there is no reason for a contract. No, that is not correct, it's YOUR pup and you have the right to ask that the pup be fixed. and if the person buying that pup refuses then that should send up a red flag altogether on rather you want your pup to go to them. Just b/c it's mixed does not mean it is free will to breed...Ok, I'm sorry got off track for a minute. But I will post pics. of my baby as soon as I figure out how. Thank you for listening.

wow, I didn't mean to, and I hope I didn't offend anyone with what I said? I love all animals rather mixed or not. I have never owned a mix breed myself. But I have found and fostered a few until I could find them good homes that were willing to have them (if I hadn't already done it) spayed or neutered. I also know that there are pure bred breeders out there giving "full registration" on pups that are not to the standard just to be able to charge more..It's a BIG problem, and to be honest I really just wanted to bring that shih a poo home no matter what, if not for any other reason but to just make sure that at least one of the pups were cared for properly. So yes it was VERY hard to walk away. After I found all those ads, I started reading (again)about 'puppy mills' and 'byb' and then I REALLY wanted to bring the little guy home! but that is not and will not help the moms and dads! They are the ones being abused beyond belief and I knew that. Anytime anyone feels the need to purchase a puppy from just anyone b/c it's cheap, or it has full registration, please type in puppy mill and just get a little reminder. I did. Ok, I've said enough :O)

I'm glad you found your new addition to your your family. I saw a cute 5 month old shitzu at petco last week. The owner(guy) was looking for a little sweater or coat, in which I helped him. He was going to surprise his girlfriend with the new outfit. He bought his shitzu from a pet store. I mentioned the BYB and the people that buy from then and sell to the petstores. I did not want to offend him though. He wants another shitzu. I gave him the sight I found my dogs at www.amrt.net Since he was thinking of adopting another one. Learn to post pictures. Can't wait to see new pup.

There are the same type breeders that do pure breeds for the same reasons you just gave ...the buck .I am a cross breeder .....mostly maltipoos .Yes ,I charge a good price .I give health guarentees and have a neuter /spay contract .I also rescue any dog I can and help place others in need .Just because you breed a cross does not make you a bad person or a byb .What makes you a bad breeder is if you do not take care of your animals ,you sell to pet stores ,you sell manged or desieased dogs ,you breed excessively the same dogs over and over ,you do not have a program and more .Whether purebred or cross ,same rules apply .Everyone screams about bybs ,lets stop pet stores . Well ,I just pulled 16 purebreeds and mixed breeds turned in by their owners to a kill shelter,they were going to gas them that day ,most were turned in the same day .Their little box holds 18 packed in ,I made sure they did not have one to pack in ,what pays for my rescues ? My maltipoos and a few others I try just to see if they come close to a maltipoo in health and in personality .I put my money back into animals not wanted .I don't run my head ,I let my heart lead me to do the right thing .That is what we should stop,kill shelters .Every owner that turns in one should have to watch a film of it being put down .Should be a federal law that says they have to .Write your congressman ,senator ....stop the kill shelters .Make laws that amount to something .More laws that mean something means less pet shops ,less bybs ,less mouthing and more action .I have more purebreed rescues than I have mixed and can place more mixed dogs better and faster than purebreeds .
No ,you didn't hurt my feelings at all .Better I breed maltipoos and rescue as many other types as I can than to say alot and do nothing .God knows us all .

Maltipoo's also another absolutely adorable mixed breed! and if I had run into anyone that put half as much of their time into their dogs and other animals as you say you do. that would have been wonderful. but unfortunately I didn't, but I'm very pleased with the little guy we got, and who knows maybe one day I'll get lucky and be owned by one of the beautiful Poo mixes! I still get on here almost daily to read about them and try to find more info. And my hat's off to you and your work with the dogs, I have taken in quite a few myself but never 16 at once wow. I'm a complete inside dog person though so never really had the room or the want for that many dogs inside lol. Anela

I am happy you found what you wanted .Hope he brings you all the joy that best friends can and do everyday to the humans they own .
Lord ,I could not keep all those in my house either .I would though ,which is why my husband built kennels .LOL!
I have already placed a few of the rescues and 2 are comming today to pick up 2 more .Then ,maybe 2 for a couple of the puppies .Suppose to call back today and get directions .
Dogs are a gift ,one reason Dog is God spelled backwards .Hope to see pictures soon of your little one .

Here's my little guy! He's growing up as fast as possible to come home lol....
I hope that worked? I just went to your site and wanted to let you know that your site is one of VERY few that give information on the poo mixed breeds thanks for that!
