Does anybody know what would cause a 16 year old female calico cat to lose her hair on her belly? I just noticed I can see a huge patch of her speckled skin and it feels shaved. Her hair used to be full there with a thick undercoat.

could be lots of things, especially at her age - allergies, hyperactive thyroid, etc. Do a search online and see what comes up and compare other symptons...not that that is a replacement for a good checkup. Is she licking the spot? Or is it just coming out?

This article talks about a lot of the causes of hairloss in cats:

I have noticed her licking a little, now that you ask, but it doesn't look inflamed or anything.

Hi. Welcome to the site. I think a trip to the vet would be a good idea. Just have the vet exam her belly and see if he/she can determine the cause. Keep us posted.
