Hello. Brewers yeast can be used for many animals. It contains B vitamins (except for B12),minerals and amino acids, The amino acids (proteins) in Brewers Yeast are suppose to help the body repair tissue and fight disease. The minerals in Brewers Yeast are suppose to help control shedding and promote healthy skin and fur in animals.

As for giving them more than what is suggested, I wouldn't do that. If it says one tablet for a 10 pound cat, then don't give them more. Too much of a good thing is not a good thing. More than what is suggested can make your kitties sick.

I think its better to give less than recomended than more. So just one tablet for the 16 lb cat.

Think of the yeast as an extra or a bonus. Getting a small bonus is better than getting nothing at all.

But, too many concentrated vitamins all at once can be damaging to bodily functions in both animals and people. And create more work for the kidneys.

They say it helps with flea problems, because these tablets usually contain garlic (which is suppose to help combat/repel fleas).

Lol, I understood what you meant. I type fast too and often make tons of typos. That's why you'll often see 'edited by chessmind' at the bottom of my posts. It's hard to check for typos in our little 'reply box.' At least I think so. How is your kitty with the pelvis fracture? How much longer till he can come out of his cage?

I'm glad he's doing better. Two more weeks, woo hoo! You should have a little party at your house (just you and the cats) when he gets out.
