My daughter and i went on monday and picked out our kitten from the litter that had the "extra toes"
The one she picked is cream coloured but doesnt has the "extra toes" and he is a little boy aaawwwhhhh!!
But the 2 kittens that had the "extra toes" one of them did have 8 toes on each of the front paws. And the orange one had 6 toes on each paws!
Their only 2 weeks so 4 more weeks to go!!
Talk to you all soon. momma

Well congrats on your new "baby"! Mulitple toes??? sounds like a seriou genetic defect...Someone bred their cat with a defect? or was this accidental?

Actually its a gene, is what i've found out. If you look at the 2 page of the post messages you'll see maryNH's cat zeus who has 6 toes on each paw. pd poly something or other is what the gene is called. No inbreeding happend!

Samsintentions....double-pawed kitties have been around forever - they are known as polydactyl cats. They just have extra toes. Sometimes one on each paw - sometimes 2 to 3. My boy Zeus has 2 extra toes on each front paw and 1 extra on each back paw.

It's just a genetic thing...

Congratulations Momma. I'm sorry, I don't remember if you have any other cats right now. If you don't, perhaps you could get two kittens that way he'll have a friend.
