Having a young kitten is new to me, and I was wondering if you can give kittens one or two cat treats.

I certainly don't want to give Hank a treat or two and have Orko looking at me expectantly for his (I believe in equal treatment when it comes to hand-outs and attention).

The thing is, I can't find any kitten treats. I do give Orko one or two of Hank's treats, but only sparingly so it wouldn't give him any bad digestion effects.

Is this okay?

Giving treats to kittens is just fine, as long as it's not their main source of food. And doesn't "spoil thier dinner", just like giving and occasional cookie to a kid won't hurt.

Kitten food is higher in protien and fat becuase kittens grow fast and excersize more than adult cats. Adult food won't harm a kitten, but doesn't provide that extra boost.

Hi Aris. Welcome to the site. I agree with footsie. As long as it's a small treat here and there it's okay. I believe there are kitten treats on the market. Check your local pet supply shop and see what they have. You may find a healthy treat for your kitty.

As long as you give them in moderation I don't think you will have any problems. If you are interested, Nutro Max makes treats for kittens in 3 different flavors.
You can check them out on their website: http://www.nutroproducts.com/maxcat-rctreats.asp
