I was wondering if anyone had experience with Ferrets and Cats. Since I've been really considering adopting a ferret.

I understand that I ferret can kill a cat a vice versa and of course I would never leave the ferret roaming free or where the cat could get to it without supervision.

Can they become friends or in your opinion would they remain arch enemies for life?

Is there any other concerns a should be aware of?

Any advice would be appreciated

This may seem odd, but my animals seem to be friends with the wierdest creatures....

I remember watching a show on the Television, where a cat was friends with a crow.....
Just goes to show animals can get along...
I would introduce them slowly, both being held or on leashes....then alow them to have only limited time with each other. Perhaps allowing only one room per pet until its settled in.

i have 2 ferrets 1 cat a kitten and a large dog and my ferrets are out almost all day and i have never had a problem with any of them not getting alone they chase each other around the house all day which makes for alot of noise here, i also have 3 kids who are in the chase to lol good luck

Hi, I have 2 ferrets and a few cats. I would not call them arch enemies, but like you said I would never leave them alone together. Just be diligent and everything should be fine.

Thank you for all of your advice.

I have decided to put off adopting a ferret for a year or two.

Being a full time student in my senior year and having no clue where I'll be next year. I decided to wait until I settle down and wont be moving for awhile.
