PLEASE HELP!! On christmas eve we found the cat from next door and it looked like it was dying. we took it back to its owner and the next day our (outside) cat started throwing up. she is getting worse and has been lying on the bathroom floor since yesterday. she wont eat, drink, or even move and she has pinkish mucus dripping from her mouth. we dont have the money to take her to the vet. one of out other neighbors told us that the same thing happened to her cat about 6 months ago. Could it be that some one has poisoned her?

Hello. If you don't take your cat to the vet she could die. Vets do take payment plans. Please take your kitty to the vet now. You're the one who will have to live with whatever decision you decide to make. Until you get her to a vet try to get some water in her mouth, either with a needless syringe or dropper or anything you can find that is clean. It would be very unfair to your cat if you don't take her to the vet, especially since she could be saved and vets will make payment plans with you. Please keep us posted and let us know what you decided to do. Just please take her to the vet.

p.s. If you decide not to take her to a vet for whatever reason, you can also take her to the nearest 'no kill' animal shelter and just say you found her and they will take her in and do the best they can to help her at no cost to you (as it's 'not your cat'). She'll no longer be your kitty, but she will at least have a chance to get proper medical attention and maybe even get adopted.

Sounds like a virus that cats get. Puppies get parvo that has similar symptoms and kills them very quickly, I don't rember what its called that cats get, but thats what it sounds like it is.

With out medical attention, I doubt your kitty will make it.

If you're on a low income / on benefits in the UK I think you can get really low cost treatment by filling in a form, something to do with the PDSA I think. Why don't you ring round some vets and see what they suggest, as it sounds like she definately needs treatment fast

Oops, just realised you're in the USA. Still probably worth ringing round afew vets though

Check with the local SPCA or Humane Society of the United States, they have low cost clinics some places. If you are near Dallas HSUS has a great one in Dallas.
