We have 3 male cats...which leads to a lot of competition! They are all neutered and use the litter box. But we have caught them spraying houseplants and a particular wicker chest. I would like to know if anyone knows a way to prevent this spraying?? I've heard of products you can buy to squirt around your house which make furniture, etc. smell in such a way that the cats will not desire to spray them. Does anyone know about these things or have any ideas?

There is a spray called Feliway that is supposed to help prevent territorial marking.

You can find more info. and possible solutions regarding spraying on this site: http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Pointe/9352/litterboxhelp.html

Feliway worked for me. My female cat and a new kitten were introduced into a house with 3 male cats. The male cats were spraying alot so I tried feliway and it has worked wonders. No more spraying!! I would spray the areas they marked everyday (you only need one squirt per area) and now I just squirt once a week or so even though the spraying had stopped. The bottle seems to last forever.
