I have a couple of questions about my Kitty's hygiene. She never covers her poop anymore inside the box with litter,why is this?? She always used to!!!Lastnight,she jumped into bed with us,and my boyfriend leaned over to pet her,and came up with a handful of litter! It was all stuck to both of her back feet...what is going on with her??? Any ideas??

My Abby doesnt cover her poop either. She does her business, turns around and sniffs it, and then walks away....her big brother Arnie, then comes along and covers it up for her. I asked my vet about it, and she told me not to worry it is normal.

My little kittie Midnight also does this. She was a stray that we picked up on the street and she has to be about 3 months old. But she doesn't cover either. Fortunately, one of my other cats is a stickler for cleaniness and will cover everything in the box before he digs to do his business.

When you see her go, take her paw and try to cover (without making too much of a mess).

My cats get litter on their feet too. I got little track mats that go in front of the boxes- those help. She probably is getting more litter on her feet b/c she doesn't cover and steps in her pee and the litter sticks. If you can get her to cover it should help the other problem.

Thank you all for your suggestions! I thought maybe something was wrong,because she always used to do it, but maybe she just got lazy in her old age(she's 7 months old now..LOL).I guess some kitties do,and some kitties don't. Thanks again !!!
