I would watch him and track his weight. Every few days or so, step on the scale by yourself. Then pick up the cat and step on the scale again. Subtract to find the cat's weight. (Insert image here of me doing this with a growing puppy...my husband laughs at me when I do it now - it's an armful of dog.)

If he continues to lose, I would call the vet and ask what to do. He might need another check-up at that point to make sure he is okay. If his weight stablizies, then he is probably fine.

Also, make sure you are feeding him an appropriate amount. The amount given on the bag is an estimate. Ask your vet what a good target weight for him would be, and try to maintain him at that weight.
