we have two beautiful cats aged seven who have always been house trained, however six months ago we moved house and because we weren't allowed cats in the house they went to stay with my parents, three weeks ago we brought them back to live with us and since then they have started to poo and wee all over the house, we have put in a cat flap for them but they rarely use it instead they use various rooms in the house, how do I stop this ???? please help its driving me mad

From what I've heard, moving to a new place can be pretty upsetting for a cat - That's probably why they are doing it. My suggestion would be to treat them like kittens, and follow litter training techniques. After they eat put them in their box, if they leave just watch them, and put them back in every 5 mins or so, mabye use their paw to scratch the litter a bit.

Might want to try confining them to a small room without carpeting, like a bathroom, with their bed, toys, food, water and a litter box. They will want to keep their eliminations clear of their other stuff, and on a hard floor will definitely use the litter box.

Hope that helps.. Hopefully someone more knowledgeable on the subject will reply.

Definitely a great suggestion! Confining them may not be fun, but it will make a huge difference in the long run. They need to retrain themselves and regain some security about their new environment. By the way, I recommend XO for the odor. It is an all natural product and you can find it at www.revivalanimal.com It smelled horrible while wet (that may have been my carpet), but when it dries I can't even tell if a whole male has sprayed, and their is no residual odor.
