Got my old (18 human years) cat her shots and she is allergic to flea bites & had itching and scab places. The vet I went to gave her shots in her back legs, including a steroid shot. This was 1 month ago and now she is limping badly, has little appetite, but, she drinks water as always and eats a few bites. She also has lost a bottom canine so has problems with eating. The cat seems to be losing muscle mass and the muscle in her rear left leg just quivers when she walks. Does anyone have any ideas of what I can do to help her before it becomes totally terminal. She was in great shape, jumping on & off things and even playing before this. I just can't stand the thought... laura

Hi, Sounds like she may be having some sort of reaction i would take her back to the vets and tell them how long this has gone on, and that she was happy and eating well and jumping and stuff before she had this shot.

Was the shots for vaccination purposes or for the allergy...

But i must stress i would take the cat back to find out what is wrong esepcially since she is losing her muscle in her legs ( not a good sign)

I asked what shots were given b/c some of the vaccines can cause problems and even some sort of tumors. My vet told me that they give vaccinations in the legs instead of the neck now so that they can amputate the leg if they develop serious complications. Definately call the vet who gave the shots.
