Does anyone know if cats can have a reaction to rabies vaccines? My 2 yr. old neutered cat had his rabies shot on Wed. night. By Friday morning, he wasn't eating or playing. All he does is sleep and seems to prefer sitting where it is warmest. I see no signs of sneezing, coughing, vomitting, diarrhea, or any visible signs of injuries. I was hoping to avoid a trip to the vet, however, if he isn't feeling any better tomorrow, it looks like we will have to take him. Any ideas?

Cats can have a reaction to any vaccine. I would call the vet who gave him the shot and describe what he is doing. They can tell you if it sounds like a reaction to the shot or not. They might tell you how to take care of him at home.

Thanks. I will call the vet tomorrow to see what they think. The cat is still no better. Has slept all day and only eaten a little "lick" of his canned food. Very unlike him!
