about a month ago, I took this stray cat home. all it does is eat, and eat and eat, he wines, as soon as he thinks there is food in the area, at one point he was even throwing up.

I also have this persion cat which is a female, but nuetured. when ever I feed them, the male cat, always saves some of it's food and when the female cat moves away from it's food for a second, he comes in and eats her food, which is not fair when he has his own food, he then finishes her food and then goes back to his food.

also as a side note, the male cat is always trying to fight with the female cat, but then at times they just lay next to each other.

Any help would be great.

First of all you are a good person for rescuing a street kitty and giving him a home.

It sounds like he is still trying to recover from being a street cat. Cats that used to live on the street sometimes have food issues. They aren't used to having food around and get neurotic if the bowl if half empty. The best way to fix this is to always have food available, if that is an option. At first they may eat a lot, but once they realize that there will always be food there they relax and eat normally.

As for the fighting, are you sure he isn't trying to play. My cats get kind of rough when they play. It may be that he is playing and she doesn't want to. One of my cats picks on his sister sometimes and she doesn't want to play so she spits and hisses and runs away. It's not that he is mean, he just wants to play. If they get along most of the time, I would guess that he wants to play and she doesn't. If the stray isn't fixed you should get it done soon. He may be a little agressive if he isn't fixed.

thanks for the advice, I never thought that they may be playing, one second they can be next to each other the next, they're going at it.
