Help! Okay, I posted a few days ago but haven't heard anything back. Really need some help. Edgar, who we adopted 2 yrs ago, is 5-8yr old 20lb cat. We are his 3rd adoptive family and we knew when we adopted him that he had problems of urinating outside the litter box. If he is kept in the same room as the box he doesn't pee on the floor but once he is let out he pees on the floor next to the box. We've done everything short of hirring a pet psychic to tell us about his past. I don't know what to do. I've had him locked in his room all day (lots of food and water) and he has not used the litter box once and nor has he gone on the floor. He got out for a little bit today and immediately began to wipe his butt on our area rug. I'm at my witts end with how to help him. Has anyone else had this problem?? I really want to help him as I'm sure that if he is returned again they would put him to sleep. PLEASE HELP

Thank you, I checked out the sight. I had him checked out by the vet before but I will call again to ask about those two symptoms they listed. You never know. I just love Ger so much and hat that I don't know how to help him. Thank you again for your repyl.

I was hoping greypaw would respond, greypaw knows a lot about behavior issues.

Thank you so much for your reply. I've checked out those sites and have written to a couple of them about Ger. Hopefully they will have some good advice. I think I'll take him to a different vet just in case. I'd hate to think that he had a urinary track infection...gawd those are sooo painful! Thanks again for your support.
