First of all this message isn't directed at any one person its a general opinion of mine.

I read some of the postings on this board and find many cat owners complaining that their pets are sick but they can't afford a basic exam at a vet. We took in a stray that was left behind when a family moved out of our building, they just left it in the hall. Another Kitten was found yesterday in an empty apt with a note saying they couldn't afford to take it with them so please find it a good home.

People if you can't afford the basics of owning a pet DO NOT GET ONE!!!!!!!

A friend of my mother's used to find Dogs tied to the medium on the highway where owners had just left them. In my books owning a pet and not providing proper care is just as bad as abusing them.

That is all

I can not wait until the day when the stray populations are under control, and there are only enough pets for people that really want them and will take care of them. I love all of my cats, but I have more than I would have set out to get b/c other people are irresponsible. If you don't want to committ to your pet for life, don't get it. I don't have a lot of money but if any of my pets were sick I would find a way to pay for it. People that abandon pets or put them to sleep b/c they don't want to pay for treatment make me angry.

I totally agree with you. The stray we picked up cost us $180 in total to bring up to standard (shots etc) and we had very little money at the time. People think they are doing good in adopting a pet, but if you can't afford to do right by it your really doing no good at all.

I don't know what it is with cats in apt buildings but another kitten has been found that no one has claimed.

Hehe, I am shelling out cash every month for three different types of medication.....for my mouse! Poor baby will be on it for the rest of her life.

So, needless to say, my dogs and cats get the care they need.

Wow - we thought long and hard before purchasing our cat.

I feel horrible for those animals that have no families
