HI all, I have a 14 year old male satan spawn kitty. I say this because he is extremely violet when taken to the vet, anyway recently out of the blue he just stopped eating and became lethargic. I should mention that he is all white and has had skin issues most of his life, itching, hot spots etc... anyway I took him to the vet and in order to examine him he had to be put out for a while . He had full bloodwork done, urinalysis, fecal exam nothing turned up except that he has severe arthritis in his hips which I didn't know, and his liver is small but the doctor tells me it could be that he is overweight and its just crowded. So he had to spend the night on an have an I.V just to be safe, and yesterday I brought him home,he is miserable and he still wont eat. If anyone has any suggestions I would greatly appreciate them. thanks Julie

Well I dont know if this is a possiblity for you or not.
I adopted a kitty to a new family 3 weeks ago. She was a big fat kitty (about 15 pds) and in 3 weeks at the new home she had lost over half of her weight and is a big whopping 5 pds.
They tested EVERYTHING. They did a blood panel, urinalisis, a fecal, fiv/feleuk test, cbc. It showed nothing except for the fact that she was anorexic (which we knew anyway)
We made an appt for her at the specialist and found out that she had an infected root in one of her front teeth but showed no swelling.
So you might want to look into that or make sure that your vet examines every aspect.

You can give him some nutrical to keep his strength up. It is a vitamin paste with a lot of fat and protein in it.
