This past week my cat has had a skin irratation all over his body, neck, throat, head back. Hes got scabs everywhere. Also he is going bald under his left armpit, and losing hair here and there. he hasnt had his food in a few days so hes losing weight. I thought it was fleas bothering him so I bought flea shampoo and bathed him. It helped a bit, I could get that stuff you put behind their neck but I'm afraid it will just hurt him. Does anyone know what I could do for him?

Cat info
NAme: Sting
Breed: Long haired tabby
Age: 4
weight: heavey
medical history: got ran over by a car his jaw was smashed, mouth wired for a few months.
I hope someone has some info to help me out
Thank you
Dion

Sounds like allergies to me. Im sure the vet could give him something to help. Good luck.

It could also be ringworm. In cats it looks scabby and makes them lose their fur. If it is ringworm, you can treat it with program (a flea treatment but it works for ringworm) and topical cream. A vet can tell the difference between ringworm and allergies.

I agree with the other posters. But it could also possibly be allergic reaction to something. Any new change in his diet lately? Is he an indoor or outdoor cat?

My old cat had something that sounds like that....i always called it cat ezema....it happens when the temp. is either too hot or too cold. it could be the food. i wouldnt use the shampoo on him...my cat hated that stuff, it seemed to make her better for like a couple of days then she would get worse than she was befor i washed her in it...the vet will tell you to just keep him cool...they'll give you antibiotics for him to drop on his food everyday.....its kinda a pain but it works... leme know how things go..

I think he is completley bald now under his belly, hes been sleeping on my floor for 13 hours. Hasnt moved when i picked him up last night he was growling, as for the vet I dont have a single doller to my name becasue make it short my dad is camping his cell is out of range. Most vets here charge $50 $60 dollers just for the chek up. than you gotta pay for the medicne. I think theres a free vet well free if you cant pay or at leaset a donation.

I would highly supsect ringworm, although I can't say for sure since I didn't see it. It's treated with program which you can buy at the vets or on the internet.
