How do I stop cats from peeing on anything plastic? They pee on plastic bags, plastic covers, the trash can. I live w/ 7 cats plus the neighborhood cats. No matter what I wash it down w/ or spray on it, they keep peeing and spraying. HELP!!!

This might sound like a really dumb question, but, do they have a proper litterbox?

Well, they don't but never trouble in the house, just outdoors. They're my fathers cats and we share a back porch. I have trash bags over my plastic chairs and table to them clean and a cover for my grill thats plastic and a trash can. Everyday something gets soiled. Now I have to come up w/ something to clean the cover b/c they have pee'd of it which is like fiber/felt material. Any ideas??

It sounds to me like it could be territorial. One cat marks it...another comes and marks over it...are they fixed?

As far as getting the smell out so THEY don't smell it...that's pretty hard. All I know is to possibly try bleach? Have you tried spraying the items with lemon juice or other sprays?

My fathers cats are fixed but the others aren't and there are a couple of males as well as females. I'm not sure who's doing it, male or female. I used cat & kitten repellent the night before and still they pee'd. My hubby used lysol cleaner w/ alittle bleach and still they pee. I was planning to soak my grill cover in the bathroom tub but not if the're still peeing out there. I haven't tried lemon juice. Maybe I need to make a bleach/water solution to spray out there.
