kitI dont know if anyone will get this and replay in time but I have an orphaned 3 week old kitten with dehydration and severe diahera was doing fine for a few days now it is slipping fast, skin on nape stands up and is stiff all dry in the mouth cant eat or drink. I am force feeding small amounts of a mixture i made with water a very small amount of salt and a small amount of sugar using a needless syringe. I have 0$ right now and cannot take to vet. It also has fleas that may be infecting the cat as the ones that bit me ar inflamed a bit. Prior to sickness i was feeding kitten milk from a store and a mix of damp kitten food mixed with a little fancy feast.

I need help fast it is dying

I must stop the diahrea and get it hydrated first to stabilize it what should i do. It is now a dear freinds kitten and she is in tears help me plz if you see this in time

angelim no expert but water first and formost as with humans give food it goes out the other end see how you get on with for a n afternoon then put sugar in it then if all is ok then food
snarlydwarfack, just happened here while googling. That sounds like our kitten was last week.

The vet hydrated her and kept her in an incubator for several hours.

The basic prescription: LOTS of liquids. No milk -- this gives them the runs and dehydrates. (I asked about 'kitten formula', supposedly made just for cats, but the vet said not even that.) The vet recommended Pedialite, you know the stuff to feed baby humans when they get dehydrated. Keep the kitten warm.

A day later she was fine and silly. (Though now I think it's all backfired: she's constipated so we're trying some milk to force the runs a bit... silly kitten won't drink water by herself, but she does seem to like the milk, so maybe that'll get her in the habit of drinking.)

I hope your kitty is well.

I know lack of money sucks: but you may want to explain the plight to a vet on the phone. I would hope that you could find one more interested in helping the kitten live than whether or not they get $60.

natalieDid this work? please let me know. i have kitten in same shape as yours. did the pedilyte work? help!!!1
