Robb@sympatico.ca	Six weeks ago I introduced a fifth cat (male named Billy boy) to my home. This makes five. Four males and one female. All have been fixed. Toby, my five year old male tabby went ballistic. I have him on Clomicalm medication and it helps to calm him somewhat. Billy doesn't want to fight and gets along well with the other three. Because Toby is still so upset I'm wondering if he had been neutered thoroughly in the first place. He really is angry. Are there different degrees to the operation? and is there anyway I can determine at home if he had been neutered before I go back to the vet? Billy has next to nothing back there, but Toby looks like he has a package. Thanks for any help... robb@sympatico.ca
Pauline	In animals there is a pecking order that is established with 2 or more. Was Toby by chance your 1st acquired? If so, or even if later really, if he happens to be the eldest, chances are he was #1 in the heirarchy/pecking order. Or, as you say, there may be a chance he is "proud", that is, has a 3rd testicle thereby still the "package" you speak of. When males are neutered, the scotal sac has had the testicles removed, and within a short time after the surgery, the scotal sac/scrotum, shrivels up in size. Some vets remove all. I guess this calls for a vet to check it out..or you, can feel a small item in the scrotum? Then he just may have another/3rd one that descended after surgery, who knows. There is still the aggression factor, not a good one, and I would opt to possibly have a vet take some initial/screening bloodwork to see if something else just may be going on. All in all, a vet taking a look-see ain't a bad idea. Good luck, and do please share with us just what the outcome is, won't you? God bless.
robb	Thanks for the reply Pauline. Toby and Billy go in for a check tomorrow. Seperate cages of course. Toby and Billy are about the same age.Between four and five. Billy was my mothers cat and now he is with me. A non fighter and a perfect gentleman. Toby was found abandoned on a subway train May 16, 1998 here in Toronto . He was about three months old. No one ever claimed him. I brought him home. The other four cats were all over the age of twelve. Mama was over nineteen. All four welcomed him. He's always been the "baby". They don't go out. Billy lived in the country and stayed by himself with my mother. He doesn't deserve this. robb
