ChrisMy cat has either licked or lost his hair on his stomach and now I noticed his hair is missing on the underside of his legs. Has anyone else heard of this and if he is licking what could I do for him.

PaulineI would first either take him to a vet for a proper skin analysis, to see what may be lurking such as the microorganism for Ringworm. And I would then bathe kitty every 5-7 days in a fungicide shampoo like Microtek sells or from a vet, like Dermazole, an excellent one also. And rinse, rinse, rinse. I would also for my own piece of mind, vacuum house thoroughly, not let cat out anymore if so, and put kitty on Program liquid from Lambriarvet online or Jeffers or another as it is cheaper than from a vet. It has been known to not only prevent fleas, but enhances the skin and helps in the fungus we know as Ringworm. There are still ongoing field studies in the FDA approving the drug for RW, however, it IS and has been given for it. One of my Persians had it badly, we tried the vaccine, the baths, etc, and then, boom, vete put him on Program....first dose is DOUBLE for its weight, then, 2-3 weeks later, same if lesions or hair loss occuring still, and then 2-3 weeks later, normal dose for its weight, then same every month. My cat's fur has tripled in density, no lesions, great coat. I even called the vets at Novartis in Greensboro NC to tell them the great effects. Good luck now.
