Alexis Marcuvitzmy cat has horrible sores on her belly created from her constantly licking and biting herself, when we adopted her from an animal shelter a few months ago she had just two, now they have gotten much worse and there are all over her belly. Why is she doing this and how can i stop it.
jennhocat2Has anyone replied to your message regarding your kitty's constant licking? My cat (8 y/o dsh) strated doing the same constant licking for nearly a year and half. First it was a little spot missing on his belly, noe his whole entire belly area and inside of hind legs. He is also missing hair on his face (mouth area dn brows). My vet says he may have allergies and prescribed him prednisone...it did absolutely nothing. I wonder if it's behavioral or hot spots? If it's bhavioral, I cannot understand the missing facial hair. Does anyone have any answers on this?
    Thanx so much.
sharronI know this may sound too simple a query, have you had the cat checked for mites or fleas? Hope you both solve the problem soon.
