Gosh, at 30 yrs of age, they are starting to simmer down chew-wise a bit anyhow, and many use Senior food, a pelletized type feed which breaks up easier than whole grain feed. The big worry is choking. I wouldn't think bottle feeding is gonna be maintaining him well though. How about calling your local/state veterinary college, or the person who has been filing his teeth yearly perhaps. I bet the answer is a call away. Good luck.
